Shake your Mailbox

Residents should prepare mailboxes for the winter by tightening screws and ensuring the post and the box are secure enough to endure large amounts of thrown snow.   If the mailbox moves when shaken, it may not withstand standard snow removal operations and should be repaired or replaced.  All mailboxes should be installed and maintained in a fashion as to absorb the impact of snow coming off the face of a plow blade.  The City's policy shall be to grant no reimbursement for a mailbox failure due to impact of snow.
