After working eight years for a non-profit association promoting economic development and job security public policy, Doug Joseph earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Franklin University in 2000.
Then for 10 years starting in 2000, Doug Joseph established and operated Liberty Strategies, a management consulting business based in Reynoldsburg. Clients ranged from small businesses, non-profit associations and Republican candidates for state and local office.
In January 2011, Doug Joseph went to work at the Ohio Statehouse in Columbus as the Legislative Aide for State Representative Ron Young, a Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives.
On October 3, 2005, Doug Joseph was appointed to a vacant seat on Reynoldsburg City Council. In 2007, Doug won a full, 4-year term to City Council with 57% of the vote. Doug currently serves as the President Pro-Tempore of Council, the Chairman of Council's Service Committee and the Vice-Chairman of Council's Finance Committee.
Except for missing one Council meeting to attend his son's Kindergarten graduation in 2009, Doug Joseph has maintained a 100% attendance record as a member of City Council.
During his 5 and one half years on Council, Doug Joseph has maintained a conservative but fiscally responsible voting record and has opposed unnecessary tax increases.
In December 2005, Doug Joseph was appointed the city representative for the West Licking Joint Fire District Board of Trustees. The mission of the West Licking Joint Fire District is to provide efficient and effective fire protection and emergency medical services to District residents. The Fire District serves about 7,000 residents in the City of Reynoldsburg. The Fire District covers about 109 square miles and is one of the largest Fire Districts in the State of Ohio.
Doug Joseph was elected Board Vice-President in 2008 and re-elected to this post again in 2009. In October 2009, Doug assumed the Board President position and was then elected to this post for 2010. Doug has maintained a 100% attendance record and continues to serve as a Fire Board Member today.
Doug Joseph is a member and past Vice President of the Reynoldsburg Republican Club and is a member of the Reynoldsburg-Truro Historical Society.
Doug Joseph married his wife Kara in 1998. They have a 7 year old son, Jimmy and a 12 year old beagle, Shylee.?xml:namespace>
