Reynoldsburg Records Notice

The City of Reynoldsburg's form of government is a "Mayor-Council Plan" and is provided for by a charter. Council is the legislative body and is comprised of three (3) At Large members, who represent the entire city; four(4) Ward members, each representing a respective ward; and a President who is elected from the City at large. The term for each office is four (4) years.

The President votes only in case of a tie vote among the members. In the temporary absence of the Mayor, the President of Council serves as Acting Mayor.

At its first meeting in January of each year, Council meets for the purpose of organization. Council meets in regular sessions on the second and fourth Mondays of the month; and meets in committee sessions on the first and third Mondays. If a Monday is a nationally recognized holiday, a meeting is held on the immediately succeeding Tuesday. If there is a fifth Monday in a month, no meeting of Council is scheduled.

All meetings normally begin a 7:30 PM and are held in accordance with the general laws of Ohio pertaining to requirements for open meeting of public bodies.

Council recesses during the month of August.

Other elected officials include Jed Hood-City Attorney and Richard Harris-City Auditor, each serving four-year terms.

Administration services are organized under the Office of the Mayor in the following departments:
Each department is headed by a Mayor-appointed director. The Parks & Recreation Director, according to the Charter, must also be approved by council. The Public Service Director supervises the divisions of Street, Building, and Water/Wasterwater.
