As Chief Financial Officer, the City Auditor is responsible for maintaining a fiscally sound government that conforms to generally accepted accounting, legal and management principles. The Auditor performs the duties of a Treasurer, Controller, Cash Manager, Budget Director and Internal Auditor.

In the performance of these duties, the Auditor prepares a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR); is responsible for the collection, investment and disbursement of all revenue; monitors compliance with internal control procedures; oversees accounts payable activities, processing of payroll, and income tax administration; monitors and evaluates the condition of departmental budgets; reviews expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets, and maintains fixed asset records.

The City of Reynoldsburg continues to demonstrate a sound, conservative approach to financial stability, as recognized by our Aa3 rating from Moody’s Investment Service.

The Auditor’s office participates in the Government Finance Officer's Association (GFOA) Excellence in Financial Reporting program and has received a certificate of achievement each year since 1991. The Auditor’s Office has also been presented with the Making Your Tax Dollars Count Award from the Ohio Auditor of State recognizing our excellence in financial reporting and commitment to our role as “guardian of taxpayer dollars” for four years.

An audit of the City of Reynoldsburg financial statements is conducted annually by an independent private accounting firm in accordance with auditing standards generally accepted in the United States of America and the standards applicable to financial audits contained in Government Auditing Standards issued by the Comptroller General of the United States.
