Deputy Chief of Police
Deputy Chief Curtis Baker was appointed to serve as the Deputy Chief of Police in October of 2018.
Deputy Chief Baker started his law enforcement career as a part-time police officer in Northville, Michigan. Shortly after, he was hired as a full-time police officer at Eastern Michigan University. In 1999, Curtis left Eastern Michigan University and returned to the Columbus area where he joined the Hilliard Division of Police, leading the Detective Bureau. In 2017 Curtis then transferred to the New Albany Police Department. He is a graduate of Eastern Michigan and The Capital University Law School.
DC Baker is responsible for all internal affairs investigations, training, and community outreach.
