The Reynoldsburg Police Bike Unit was established almost twenty years ago with the addition of one mountain bike and one bicycle officer. Since then it has grown to its current size of five bikes and six IPMBA trained bicycle officer. All officers must be selected after volunteering for the rigorous and challenging International Police Mountain Bike Course. Officers learn the basic techniques for safely utilizing a bicycle as a law enforcement tool. Bicycle officers are assigned as teams to target areas for both visibility and stealth depending on the missions. They are also deployed in strength to special events such as the Fourth of July Parade, the fireworks, the tomato festival and the Mt. Carmel Fitness challenge. The unit is available for special events with prior request and approval. For more information, please contact Sergeant Mark Moser at 614-832-4967 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
