The Reynoldsburg Board of Zoning and Building Appeals meets the third Thursday
of each month at 6:30 pm in the Reynoldsburg Municipal Building located at 7232 E. Main Street.

Powers and Duties of the Board of Zoning and Building Appeals

  • To review and approve or deny approval of a site plan as provided in Chapter1143 (Major Site Plan applications)
  • To permit exceptions to and variances from the provisions of the Zoning Code as provided in Chapter 1147 (see Variance and Special Exception and Use Permit applications)
  • To establish reasonable conditions, regulations and standards in the approval of a site plan, special exception, variance or exception or other official action as necessary to ensure that the design, construction and operation of the use or structures subject to such approval are carried out consistently
  • To make interpretations upon request of the Zoning Officer or upon appeal from any property owner of the City (applicability see 11 39.03(e)(l-3))
  • To grant or deny a zoning certificate when issuance has been referred to BZBA by Zoning Officer (see Zoning Certificate)
  • To overrule or amend any official action of the Zoning Officer when an applicant makes an appeal for such relief and when the action has been determined to be contrary to the intent and spirit of the Zoning Code
  • Make recommendation to City Council regarding amendment of the Zoning Code or of the Zoning Map
  • Any other official action consistent with the powers, duties, authorities of the BZBA as set forth by the provisions of the Charter and of the Zoning Code
